LAHORE: Punjab Counter Terrorism Department claims to have arrested two members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan who wanted to target the officials of some law-enforcement agencies in Lahore.
A CTD spokesperson said the suspects had also links with the banned sectarian outfit Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan. They were identified as Mohammad Yusuf, a resident of Bedian Road and Anzar Gull of Charsada.
He said the arrests came after the CTD was tipped off about the terrorists’ plans. During raids the CTD officials recovered 410 gram explosive material and a detonator. The CTD has lodged cases against the suspects.
