Signal-free corridor

Published November 25, 2015

MILLIONS of rupees are being spent on the signal-free corridor from the Liberty Market roundabout to Shadman, Lahore. It is a necessity considering the growth of traffic on these roads. But, unfortunately, the design seems to stress more on beautification than practicality, especially the U-turns, starting from Liberty, are different in design and size.

The designer has failed to understand the volume of joining and U-turning traffic at each location. I request the designers and traffic police to wake up and visit Liberty’s main market area during rush hours (7am to 8am and 1pm to2pm).
