MINGORA: A man and a woman were shot dead allegedly in an honor-related incident in Barikote tehsil of Swat district on Saturday.

According to an official of the Ghalegey police station, a resident of Nawey Kaley reported to the police that a man broke into his house in the middle of the night and opened fire, killing his son and a girl. The complainant identified the attacker as brother of the victim girl.

“When police reached the spot, the two victims were lying injured. They were taken to the hospital but the woman succumbed to her injuries before getting any medical aid. The injured man also died while being taken to a major hospital in Peshawar,” said the police official. He said the accused fled the area after the incident, and that a search was on for his arrest.
