LANDI KOTAL: Security officials in Bara have warned all militant groups belonging to the Qambar Khel tribe to either surrender their weapons till October 22 or face action.

Addressing a jirga of the tribe’s elders on Monday, Commandant Mehsud Scouts Ayub Sakhera cautioned the militants groups and their affiliates that their houses would be razed and their family members would be arrested if they failed to comply with the official orders.

The tribal elders were told to convey the official message to the leaders of militant groups and also persuade them to furnish guarantees of their good conduct in future through their elders.

Mr Sakhera expressed satisfaction over the overall security situation in Qambar Khel in particular and Bara in general. He, however, cautioned that no leniency would be shown to those who dared challenge writ of the government.

The jirga was asked to constitute committees to overlook execution of development schemes and ensure the security of all the government buildings.

It is necessary to note that militants targeted the main gate of a private girls school in the area, last week.
