DAGGAR: Unidentified attackers on Friday shot dead a senior lawyer of the Buner district bar association.

The slain lawyer, Dost Mohammad Khan, left his home for the district courts in the morning. But, when he stopped at a roadside restaurant to take tea, assailants opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

The body was shifted to the DHQ hospital, Daggar. A large number of lawyers, relatives and local people reached the hospital after hearing about the incident.

Sahib Roz Khan, Dost Mohammad’s nephew, lodged FIR at the Daggar police station against unknown killers. Police initiated investigations.

Meanwhile, the district bar association at a meeting condemned the killing of the senior colleague.

Later, addressing a hurriedly called press conference, district bar president Shams Bunery said the lawyers met with the district police officer, Khalid Hamdani, and apprised him of the situation arising out of the killing of the advocate.
