PESHAWAR: A theater show was organised in Tehkal area of Peshawar to encourage out of school children and get them enrolled.

A statement issued here said that Alif Ailaan arranged the show that attracted scores of out of schools children. The out of schools children participated in poems and naat recital competitions and also performed tableaus on this occasion.

The show highlighted importance of education in society and showed how parents were willing and desiring to see their children get education.

Alif Ailaan regional coordinator Umar Orakzai briefed the participants about the aim of the event. He said that around 50 per cent girls and 20 per cent boys were still out of school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On the occasion, MNA Engineer Hamidul Haq said that PTI government was taking various initiatives for promotion of education.

The newly elected district nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan said that promotion of education in rural areas would be his first priority. He said that he would visit closed schools in the district.

The nazim said that provincial government appointed 14,000 new teachers and it would fill all the vacant posts in the schools.

He requested the parents to enroll their children in school as government would provide free education to them.
