Wind power

Published August 29, 2015

A USAID research report states that Pakistan is generating only 150MW of electricity through wind. The study states that it has the potential to generate 150,000MW through wind alone.

India on the other hand is producing 24,000 MW from wind, which is greater than Pakistan’s present total power generation. It seems our leaders lack the will to resolve the energy issue.

In my opinion, if the government initiates wind energy projects, not only will the power shortage issue be resolved, the country’s oil import bill will also decrease significantly besides attracting sizable FDI investment.
