With Kapil Sharma taking a break from Comedy Nights With Kapil, it seems that it's resignation season on popular TV these days. Karan Johar has also decided to leave his late-night gig, the popular celebrity dance show Jhalak Reloaded.

Shahid Kapoor's midway break from Jhalak Reloaded (to honeymoon in London with his wife) sparked off rumours, but it was Karan Johar who was going to bid adieu to the dance crew this season. Yesterday's episode was his last. The director posted an emotional tweet in response to Shahid Kapoor's goodbye tweet.

Karan Johar was known for his constructive criticism and honest comments, which had earned him the reputation as one of the best judges on television; he had also cast a Season 6 contestant Sidharth Shukla in his film.

After taking a break from the show, he will reportedly work on an upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. The film is slated to release on Diwali 2016.
