Former QDA director involved in Rs417 million land scam

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday sent references to an accountability court against five officers of the Quetta Development Authority (QDA) for allotting more than 2100 illegal plots.

According to NAB, the five QDA officers allotted plots under the Hazar Ganji master plan.

The officers inflicted a loss of Rs417 million to the national exchequer through the illegal allotment of plots.

The accused include the former Director General of QDA Muhammad Zakir, Assistant Director Zafar Iqbal Magsi and three other officers.

Citizens had approached NAB after which an inquiry was intiated into the matter.

The QDA was allowed to allot 964 plots under the Hazar Ganji plan, but the accused allotted more than 3000 plots to individuals, with the majority being allotted to land mafia.
