KARACHI: In its ongoing rescue and flood relief operation, Pakistan Army evacuated over 15,000 flood affected people in Layyah and surrounding areas, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to inter-services public relations (ISPR), thousands of food packages were distributed among the flood-hit people while 3,250 patients were treated at the army medical camp.

In Sadiqabad and Rahim Yar Khan, over 52,000 people and 101,000 livestock were also evacuated to safer places.

Up to 4,300 patients were provided medical treated at army medical camp in Chachran Sharif and food packages were also distributed among flood affected people.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Navy’s rescue teams deployed at Badin, Khairpur, Ghotki, Sukkur, Pano Aqil. Larkana, Rani pur and Gambat were also involved in flood relief operations.

The rescue teams evacuated 655 residents from different villages of Khairpur, 135 from Ghotki, 355 from Pano Aqil and 815 from Rani pur and Gambat areas in the last 24 hours.

Bodies of two men drowned in Dadu Canal, Larkana were recovered by navy’s rescue teams.
