KARACHI: Confusion persisted on Saturday about reopening of schools after summer vacation in Karachi and other districts of Sindh.

Initially, the secretary education told electronic media that schools would likely reopen on Aug 3 in the districts not affected by floods, including Karachi. However, in a late night development, the chief minister rejected such proposal, according to officials.

“Notification about reopening of schools on Aug 11 has not been withdrawn,” said an official statement issued by the chief minister’s spokesperson. He added that all schools would reopen on Aug 11.
