KARACHI: Hardly 24 hours after adding two new faces in the aftermath of Asian champion Hamza Akbar’s omission besides reshuffling the team, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) included another pair comprising two players for the World 6-Reds and Team Championship on Friday, officials said.

The duo that has been made part of the Pakistan team comprised former international Abdul Sattar and Zulfiqar A. Qadir. It is pertinent to mention that Mohammad Bilal and Rambel Gul earned selection in the team on Thursday.

Hosts Pakistan will now field a strong team of 24 cueists — 12 in 6-Reds, eight pairs in team event and three pairs in masters. Ten players are common in the 6-Reds and Team Event.

Meanwhile, Karachi commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui has assured foolproof security to the foreign teams and guests during their stay in the city.

“Special sleuths will be deployed in and around the Movenpick hotel to ensure smooth holding of the mega event,” he told the PBSF president Alamgir Shaikh.
