DADU: A large number of journalists coming from various towns of the interior of Sindh held a demonstration at SSP Chowk along with their colleagues in Dadu on Thursday to demand immediate arrest of an influential feudal lord and his armed associates who were accused of having kidnapped and tortured a group of senior journalists about four weeks back.

The protesting journalists from Hyderabad, Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi, Phulji, Sita Road, Khudabad, Bhan Syedabad, Sehwan and other towns travelled to Dadu to join the demonstration on a call given by various organisations after they realised that some politicians were protecting the suspects at a place away from Dadu.

Vehicular traffic on intercity routes remained suspended for over five hours because of the demonstration.
