KARACHI: Nine of 12 friends, among them four said to be workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, who had gone ‘missing’ near Hyderabad, reached their Karachi homes late on Wednesday night, according to police.

“At least, nine of the missing young men have reached their homes in Gulistan-i-Jauhar,” SP Gulshan Abid Qaimkhani said.

They had travelled to Hyderabad on Tuesday night to attend the wedding ceremony of their friend.

The MQM coordination committee said in a statement that their “12 workers and supporters” had gone ‘missing’ near Hyderabad at about 10.30pm on Tuesday.

The SP said the whereabouts of the remaining men might be known on Thursday, adding that police had reports that a total of 13 men had gone ‘missing’.
