KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday directed the police authorities to submit progress report in the investigation of Perween Rahman murder case.

A three-member bench comprising Justices Amir Hani Muslim, Mushir Alam and Maqbool Baqar gave the direction while hearing an application filed by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan for the arrest and trial of the accused persons in the case.

DIG Feroze Shah along with other police officers appeared before the judges and informed them that some important pieces of evidence had been collected and the investigators had made a headway in the case. However, he said, progress report in this regard could not be placed before the court as the investigation officer of the case, SSP Pir Mohammad Shah, was on leave.
