KARACHI: Pakistan’s top cueist and reigning national champion Hamza Akbar has been promoted as assistant (contract) and awarded Rs100,000 by his employers National Bank of Pakistan for winning the Asian title in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The 21-year-old cueist created a major upset by defeating Indian celebrity Pankaj Advani in the fully stretched final 7-6.

It is pertinent to mention that by virtue of capturing the Asian crown he has qualified to play professional league in England.
