ISLAMABAD: The concluding meeting of the probe committee formed by the prime minister to explore the reasons behind the pathetic show by the national team at the recently held Hockey World League (HWL) in Belgium, has once again been postponed.

The meeting was slated to be held today (Tuesday), but it has been postponed. Earlier, it was scheduled to be held on July 24, but due to various reasons, could not take place.

According to a Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) official, the meeting will now be held on July 30 (Thursday).

“The second meeting of the probe committee scheduled to be held on Tuesday has been postponed due to unavailability of one of the members, Khalid Mahmood, who is abroad. The same will now be held on Thursday at the Committee Room, PSB,” said PSB director general (technical) Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera.

The probe committee headed by Ejaz Chaudhry comprises retired Col Mudassar, Olympian Shahbaz Senior, Khawaja Junaid, Akhtar Ganjera and Khalid Mahmood.

Ganjera said that the probe committee was likely to complete its findings in the upcoming meeting, which would be presented to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
