GUJRANWALA: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) suffered a blow in Gujranwala when it’s provincial vice-president and former MPA Chaudhry Tariq Gujjar announced joining Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday.

Chaudhry Gujjar took the decision after he met with PTI chief Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala in Islamabad. He was also accompanied by Gujranwala city general-secretary Chaudhry Baber Mehr, Chaudhry Siddique Mehr and two dozen other supporters.

It was learnt that the PTI chief had assured new comers that they would be given party tickets for national and provincial assemblies’ seats in the next general elections.

The PTI chief reportedly promised Chaudhry Siddique Mehr to give him the party ticket for NA-96 seat.
