OSLO: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Tuesday that relations between Pakistan and Norway are based on commonality of views and shared values of democratic pluralism and economic liberalism.

He said this during a one-on-one meeting with Crown Prince of Norway Prince Haakon who met him on the sidelines of Oslo Summit on Education for Development this morning.

The premier emphasised that there is a need to enhance contact between the two countries at political and economic levels.

He appreciated Norway's development cooperation with Pakistan, especially in the health and education sectors. This, he said, has assisted towards social and economic upliftment of the underprivileged.

PM Nawaz appreciated Prince Haakon's personal endeavours for establishing Global Dignity — an independent, non-political organisation that promotes the universal right of every human being to lead a dignified life.

He said Pakistan has a rich cultural heritage and there is potential for both the countries to collaborate in the field of culture.

The premier also invited the Crown Prince and Crown Princess Ms. Mette-Marit to visit Pakistan at any time of their convenience.

Prince Haakon thanked Nawaz for attending the Oslo Summit which aims at creating better education access for millions of deprived children.
