MIRPURKHAS: Around 250 appointment letters issued by the Mirpurkhas district health officer (DHO) a few months back have been cancelled while an inquiry into alleged malpractices in the process is under way.

The move followed reports about suspension of DHO Dr Ghulam Ghous Kaimkhani and a raid conducted on his office by the anti-corruption police last week.

The appointment letters have been cancelled while the recipients of the job offers were busy completing formalities like provision of fitness certificates and other required documents.

Sources said that the orders regarding suspension of the DHO and cancellation of the appointment letters have been issued by the health secretary.—Correspondent
