ISLAMABAD: Afghan Interior Minister Noorulhaq Olomi has postponed his planned visit to Pakistan due to security situation in his country.

Sources in the Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Dawn that because of last week’s attack on Afghan parliament, the minister had postponed his scheduled visit which was due this week.

They said Mr Olomi would visit Pakistan at a convenient time later.

The sources said the brazen attack on the Afghan parliament building was the sole reason for the postponement of the visit. The minister, the sources added, was now handling the overall security situation in the country in the wake of the attack.
