“WHY do the CSS?” is frequently asked in most of the academies that offer CSS preparation classes. The reply that most candidates give is: “I want to serve my nation”.
I have attempted a few seminars and demonstration classes of such academies. In most of them, the real image of our bureaucratic system is presented. The aspirants are sincerely guided that the above-mentioned reply of yours will be counted as a naive approach in your interview. So, you should confess the reality that you want to enjoy the power and prestige offered by the civil services.
The image that is being printed in fresh aspirants’ minds of a bureaucrat is entirely the opposite to what a bureaucrat should actually be.
Rebuking those who are claiming to serve their nation and appreciating the ones who are directly speaking that we would exploit the land as much as we can — such attitudes have caused us a great deal of damage, and if it is not controlled at the right moment, it will lead us to further calamities.
