HYDERABAD: The army has set up two heatstroke centres in Hyderabad and one each in Jamshoro, Badin, Chhore and Sehwan Sharif to provide treatment to the victims of the harsh heatwave that has killed several hundred people and sent thousands more to various health facilities in the province over the past few days.

All essential facilities are available at these centres, according to a handout issued by the ISPR on Tuesday.

The Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) has also set up a heatstroke centre on its premises in Hyderabad.

Such centres have also been set up at various places easily accessible to the general public in Larkana division.

The army’s 206-Brigade in Badin district has set up a centre in the Govt High School building, where several army doctors along with paramedics are available to provide treatment to heatstroke patients.

The army handouts said that treatment at all these centres was being provided free-of-charge.
