KARACHI: Sharjeel Khan and Khurram Manzoor made invaluable contributions to help Dollar East thrash Heroes CC by eight wickets in the third Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup Cricket Tournament at Lawai Cricket Stadium late on Sunday night.

After restricting Heroes CC to 129 all out, Dollar East romped home in the Group ‘D’ night fixture in just 12.2 overs while reaching 133-2. The left-handed Sharjeel, who was named man-of-the-match, banged five boundaries and three sixes in blasting 44 from only 20 balls.

Khurram remained unbeaten with a measured 23-ball effort of 40 that featured four sixes and a six.

In Sunday’s opening game that started under extreme heat at 3:00pm, Soni Associates overpowered Azad Innovators by eight wickets.

Azad Innovators, batting first, collected 145 all out in their 20 overs. Rohidar Khan scored 35 off 29 balls with five fours and a six.

Slow left-armer Nadeem Khan snared three wickets for 33 runs and off spinner Musharraf Khan took 2-21.

Opener Ahmed Hussain, adjudged man-of-the-match, hammered an undefeated 75 of 41 deliveries, inclusive of nine fours and five sixes as Soni Associates amassed 147-2 in 13.4 overs. Mohammad Mukarram made 45 from 31 balls with six boundaries and two sixes.
