Sukkur IBA

Published June 1, 2015

EVERY advertisement, pamphlet, sticker and signboard of IBA, Sukkur, depicts its motto ‘Merit, quality, and excellence’. However, it seemed baseless when I met a delegation of 300 people representing Kashmore, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Ghotki districts of Sindh.

Members of the delegation said that they were called by the IBA, Sukkur, for a written test for teaching in various schools run by SRSO. It was extremely difficult for many poor youths to reach the IBA, Sukkur, from remote areas by 8am on May 10. But due to rising unemployment and coping with their poor economic circumstances, they somehow made it to the venue on time.

Even after they had waited for more than five hours under a scorching sun, the IBA administration refused to take their test, telling them their names were not included inthe list. However, some of the candidates were allowed to appear in the test after making phone calls to people having the right connections. But at least 250candidates had no alternative but to return to their homes.

Is the IBA, Sukkur, aware of this injustice? To whom should the poor students turn for justice?

I request the Sindh High Court chief justice to take action in this regard.
