ISLAMABAD: A special force comprising 12,000 marines will be raised to help make the protection of the country’s sea boundary invincible, Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael announced on Tuesday.

The force will be consisted of skilled personnel and it would be headed by a three-star general, Senator Michael said, adding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had issued directives in this regard and Defence Ministry had already started work on the project.

APP adds: The minister said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Gwadar Port would change the future of the country and the region as well.

He said security would be provided to investors in Gwadar.
