ISLAMABAD: The protesting employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa health and education department were arrested and sent to jail on Saturday, the police said.
They have been protesting outside the house of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan for the last couple of week. On Friday, they gathered at Korang Road and blocked it for general traffic.
The police tried to convince them to disperse, but they refused. Later, the police arrested them and shifted them to police station. The police have registered a case against them under PPC 188 and 186.
On Saturday, they were produced in the magistrate court who sent them on judicial remand.

These are contractual employees whose contract to end in June. They want to be permanent. The govt of KPK had asked to pass NTS test if they want to be permanent and the employees are not ready for this. Now tell me, who is wrong here??? The critics should know the reason behind this!!!

Giving ear to grievances of ordinary citizens should be the primary duty of any government. Lip service is of no use.

@ahmad If you break the law then you pay the price, it has nothing to do with shame for PTI government. KP is trying to clean up the rotten system and no doubt lot of people will not like it. Please understand the situation and then comment.

The problem with KP Govt is that they are trying to clean up the govt and the system. It will take time and many will be effected, this is called democracy but people are not used to that, are they?

Dear these are the employers who get these positions (jobs) through bribery not following due process and still not accepting the proposed solution of getting their contract extension with nts or departmental test

No good will ever come to this country until the people want change and willing to sacrifice. What's wrong with having to pass a test to be a teacher. It's expected in all developed nations.

You need to know that these are contractual employees who want to be permanent. The govt of KPK had asked them to pass NTS test if they want to be permanent and they refused. Decide who is wrong? How can a govt function like this.

Don't block road, everyone has a right on road. Please go to press club and register your protest. There are legal ways also to go to court. Non violence should be the priority. Especially we expect this from teachers and doctors who are cream of our society. Please avoid traffic blocks. Be gentle to humanity.

Last month, the PTI govt closed down the benevolent fund run school in Peshawar. Benevolent fund is a welfare body for the KP govt. employees run by the S&GAD (Services & General Administration Deptt, Govt of KP). About 60 employees serving for the last seventeen years were rendered jobless without any compensation. Press did not report this. This is 'Naya Pakistan'.

Some friends are commenting useless stuff. KPK govt is saying them to pass NTS test for job and they are not accepting and forcing govt to give them extension without NTS test. Tell me who is at right?. Don,t comment like this just because you don,t like PTI.

And this is how it should be done. Protesting is everyone's right, but blocking traffic , hurling stones and making others lives miserable deserves a trip ti prison.
Well done KPK government

Why are these people protesting? What were there demands?
Why is NWFP government's point on the matter?
And many readers jump to conclusions in a second... without learning the point of both sides.

KPK Govt should stick to their decision no matter how much strikes and sit ins these last remains of our rotten government system observe. Last time when such reforms were brought in Land n Revenue department against traditional patwaris n tehsildars. KPK govt surrendered against illegitimate demands of Patwari club....Rather than arresting much more severe steps should be taken. I am of the opinion, all these protesters should be immediately expelled and fresh graduates should be hired on immediate basis.
