LAHORE: The national selection committee, in consultation with the team management, has announced Bilawal Bhatti as a replacement for injured pace bowler Rahat Ali in the Pakistan Test squad currently featuring in a Test series in Bangladesh.

Bilawal, who is presently touring Sri Lanka with Pakistan ‘A’, will join the national team in time for the second Test against Bangladesh to be played in Dhaka from May 6-10.

Meanwhile, Tabish Khan, who was initially a member of the Pakistan ‘A’ one-day squad, will stay back in Sri Lanka as a replacement for Bilawal in the four-day format.

Though left-armer Rahat had been ruled out of the Test series a few ago the PCB delayed the announcement of his replacement.

A number of Pakistan players recently have been on injury list, exposing the players’ inability in maintaining required fitness levels.

The unwelcome scenario has also signified PCB’s deficient system of monitoring the working of its medical panel.
