Rashid wins in Phuket

KARACHI: Pakistan Davis Cup captain Rashid Malik won the 55 plus singles title at the Phuket ITF Seniors Pro Circuit Grade 4 Tournament on Saturday night, a news release by the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) stated.

The tournament was being held at Thanyapura Sports and Leisure Club in the Thai island of Phuket where Rashid played against two players from India, one from France and another from Singapore in the round-robin world ranking seniors event.

Rashid won all his four games to win the event ahead of India’s Sharad Tak while he also won the doubles event with his Indian partner Sanjay Kumar when they defeated the team of Tak and his compatriot N. Palaganda.
