KARACHI: Pakistan cueists experienced mixed fortunes on the second day as draws of the 31st Asian Snooker Championship were revised at Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

According to results available here, playing his second match barely 18-hours after winning the opening fixtures, national champion Hamza Akbar suffered 1-4 loss at the hands of Iran’s Abdolafshen Mohammadi who was home 11-73, 73-43, 70-3, 67-22, 62-0. Hamza was supposed to play his second match against Iran’s Siyavosh Mozayani but he faced Mohammadi after draw was revised.

Former world amateur snooker champion Mohammad Asif who hammered a century break of 119 against Kuwait’s Taqi Naser on Thursday, went down fighting 3-4 to Bahrain’s Janahi Ahmed in the second session of the day. The Bahraini cueists won the duel 56-49, 74-37, 39-83, 1-83, 74-41, 40-76, 85-4.

However, Hamza recovered from the setback by chalking up an emphatic 4-1 victory over UAE’s Mohammad Al Shamsi in his third match the scores being 58-50, 82-18, 34-60, 63-43, 69-48.
