LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Amin Wains has said that the challan of cases registered under the National Action Plan (NAP) should be completed at the earliest and sent to the courts.

The CCPO was presiding over a meeting to review the performance of investigation wing in first three months of the current year at Qila Gujjar Singh Investigation Headquarters on Thursday.

The CCPO directed his subordinates not to show laxity in completing investigation in cases pertaining to violation of loudspeaker act, distribution of material based on religious hatred and provocative speeches.

Availability of witnesses should be ensured in the courts so that the suspects involved in such cases could not escape punishment.

Mr Wains said all divisional SPs of Operations and Investigation should pay visits to police stations concerned on a daily basis to check record and other arrangements.

The CCPO said the forensic lab experts should get various samples from the crime scene especially DNA samples in murder and rape cases.

The CCPO directed the DIG Operations and acting DIG Investigation to submit report about the daily visits of all divisional SPs to their police stations concerned.

Stressing the need to keep a close liaison with the complainants, he warned that the SPs not visiting police stations under their command on a regular basis would be transferred.

Acting DIG Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem gave a briefing about the three-month performance of his wing.
