Cheating in exams

Published April 24, 2015

I AM a student of mass communication and my younger brother recently appeared for the Class IX examinations of the secondary education board.

He is a bright student and was disappointed when he found students resorting to cheating at the examination centre. On the first day of his examination, he found many students copying from their books while the invigilator chose to ignore the matter.

On the second day, he found the invigilator rather strict who seemed not to allow anyone to cheat, though students had managed to bring in material from outside and used it to their heart’s content.

On the third day the same thing happened, but on the arrival of a media team the school management had to intervene in the matter and also assure the media team that no more unfair means would be allowed.

However, on the fourth day, some male teachers were bribed by some students who were allowed to cheat in the examinations as usual.

How cruel it is that the future of Pakistan is being destroyed through dishonest practices. It is time the authorities concerned woke up and banned corrupt practices in examination halls.
