NEW YORK: The “Song of Lahore” documentary will be featured at the opening ceremonies of International Tribecca film festival which begins in New York on Saturday.

The musical group Sachal Studios of Lahore arrived in New York on Friday to attend the premiere of the documentary featuring the Song of Lahore directed by Academy Award-winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Andy Schocken.

A US State Department press release said the Sachal Studio group’s visit is part of International Visitor Leadership Progra-mme. The group will meet with local organisations and university students, sharing insights on their role as jazz musicians in Pakistan.
