ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have devised a plan to regulate traffic during the upcoming visit of Chinese President, who is scheduled to arrive on April 20.

According to the plan, 416 personnel will perform special duties on different routes, police said here on Friday.

The heavy traffic coming from Lahore would not be allowed to use Expressway and will be diverted to Rawalpindi Saddar from T-Cross for Peshawar, the police said.

Bus and trucks coming from Peshawar would use Chungi No. 26, Meharabad for their onward journey to Lahore.

The heavy traffic coming from Murree would be stopped at Satra Meel Toll Plaza during th movement of while those coming from Kahuta Road will be diverted to Rawat T-Cross from Kok Bridge, they added.

Motorists coming from Lahore to Islamabad will be diverted to Rawalpindi from Bharia Town, PWD Colony and Judicial colony, according to the plan.

The traffic for Taramri Chowk will use Ghori Town, Barma Town and Ali Pur Firash routes, the police said, adding that similarly, those moving towards Koral Chowk would use NIH or Banigala, Barma Town and Ghori Town roads.

The motorists coming from Bhara Kahu are asked to use Korang Town, Banigala via Park Road to reach Taramri Chowk while traffic coming from Bari Imam or Parliament House would be diverted to State Bank from right side of Radio Pakistan, according to the plan.

Traffic coming from Bazar Road will be diverted to Sohrawardi Road from Aabpara Chowk, the police said, adding that vehicles coming from 7th avenue or Daman-e-Koh would use Margalla Road and Faisal Avenue.

Those moving towards Rawalpindi from Faisal Avenue would use the Rescue-15 U-turn, Noori Hospital Roundabout, AGPR Loop and Kashmir Highway, they added.

Motorists coming from Lahore via Motorway are requested to use Kashmir Highway, AGPR Loop, G-8 and G-7 roads, they said, adding that those moving towards Rawalpindi from IJP Road would use Stadium Road after moving right from 9th avenue.

The traffic coming from I-8 Signal will use Al-Shifa Hospital, H-8 Graveyard Roundabout to enter G-8 while Garden T-Cross will remain close for those coming from I-8 or H-8.

The Expressway from Koral Chowk to Garden Chowk and Faisal Avenue to Rescue-15 U-Turn will remain close during the movement of the Chinese President, the police said, adding that similarly, Murree Road from Faizabad to Rawal Dam Chowk, Kashmir Chowk and Serena Hotel, Kashmir Highway from Peshawar Mor to Serena would also remain close.
