LAHORE: Trials to select national women’s weightlifting squad starts at Railways Stadium here on Wednesday.

The selected team will feature in the forthcoming Punjab International Sports Festival 2015 scheduled to be held next month in various cities of Punjab.

The female weightlifters from across the country will participate in the trials after which 16 lifters will be short-listed for a month-long training camp.

After the camp activity, an eight-member national team will be chosen for the event.

The selection committee comprising Rashed Malik, Awais Aakbar, Hafiz Imran Butt along with other officials will observe the trials and the camp training.
