MANSEHRA/ABBOTTABAD: PML-N will table a resolution in the National Assembly for creation of Hazara province after taking the parliamentary leaders of other political parties into confidence.

“We will soon finalise draft of the resolution in consultation with parliamentary leaders of other political parties in an all-party conference,” said Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf while speaking at a public gathering at district council hall here on Sunday.

Besides others, MPAs Saleh Mohammad Khan, Sardar Zahoor and Ziaur Rehman also spoke on the occasion.

The federal minister said that his party supported the creation of more federating units based on administrative divisions and it was going to soon hold an all-party conference on the issue of creation of more provinces in the country.

He said that the country needed more administrative units to ensure timely resolution of people’s problems. He said that the families of victims of police excesses of April 12, 2010 incident in Abbottabad would be provided with basic necessities henceforth.

TSH SEEKS SUPPORT: Tehreek-i-Subah Hazara (TSH) chairman Baba Haider Zaman has asked leaders of political parties opposing creation of more provinces to leave their rigid stance and cooperate for empowering people through creation of more federating units in the country.

Speaking at a gathering held in Mansehra on Sunday in connection with fifth death anniversary of the seven victims of Abbottabad incident in 2010, he warned the parties that if they continued to oppose Hazara province the people would reject them in the next election.

Death anniversary of those killed in 2010 people-police clash held

The TSH chairman said that people of Hazara would continue their struggle for the separate province. He said that people were sincere with the cause of Hazara province and they had rendered great sacrifices since April 12, 2010 when police restored to firing on unarmed protesters demanding separate province, leaving seven of them dead.

The participants also offered Fateha for the departed souls of those killed in the 2010 incident. Mr Zaman also led a car rally held to pay homage to victims of the Abbottabad incident. Other political parties also held a rally on Abbottabad road and demanded of the government to do legislation for creation of more federating unit in the country.

In Abbottabad, the death anniversary of April 2010 victims was observed at two different places on Sunday. One gathering in this connection was led by Baba Haider Zaman at Jinnah Chowk, while the second one was organised by Shuhada Forum at the press club, which was addressed by PTI provincial ministers Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani and Qalandar Khan Lodhi.

Mr Zaman criticised all the elected representatives from Hazara division, especially those of PTI and PML-N for deviating from their election promises on the issue of Hazara province. He claimed that leaders of the two parties made it to the assemblies by using the name of “Suba Hazara”.

He also slammed federal minister Sardar Yousuf, who was leading the movement for Hazara province and later joined PML-N with the promise to get support of Mian Nawaz Sharif for Hazara province.

In the press club, PTI Hazara leadership, including ministers, lashed out at the PML-N leadership from Hazara, including Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, for not fulfilling their commitments to get the Hazara province resolution passed from the National Assembly. They said that PTI had completed its task by getting the approval of “Hazara Suba” resolution from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

Provincial ministers Mushtaq Ghani , Qalandar Khan Lodhi, and MNA Azhar Khan Jadoon also slammed Baba Zaman and said that the “Baba” had damaged the cause of Subah Hazara Movement by getting the “ Tehreek” registered as a political party. Seven peoples had died and over 100 injured in a clash with police in Hazara on April 12, 2010 when a rally was held against the change of name of NWFP to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
