Ship carrying 36 Pakistanis leaves for Djibouti

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy ship Shamsheer has sailed from Al Hodeida for Djibouti carrying 36 Pakistanis and 15 foreign nationals after their evacuation from the crisis-hit Yemen.

People from other countries included four from Bangladesh, two each from Romania and Yemen, three from Qatar and one each from Ethiopia, Germany, Philippines and the UK, said a press release issued by the PN.

All the evacuees were safely taken onboard the ship after immigration formalities.

All the arrangements have been made onboard the ship to ensure safe journey of evacuated people to Djibouti. PNS Shamsheer will reach Djibouti port on Tuesday.

The PN ship had reached Al Hodeida on Monday.

Pakistan Navy remains fully committed to ensuring safe evacuation of Pakistanis stranded in Yemen. A group of 187 Pakistanis and foreign nationals was earlier evacuated from Mukalla by PN hip Aslat on Saturday. Aslat is scheduled to reach Karachi around mid-day on Tuesday.
