125 suspects arrested

LAHORE: Police claimed to have arrested 125 suspects during search operations in different areas of the city on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said a search-and-sweep operation was launched on different seminaries, hotels, factories, under-construction buildings and Afghan refugee camps in various areas of the city. He said 5,782 people were checked at 63 places and 125 were booked under Section 55/109 of Pakistan Panel Code on suspicion.

Deputy Inspector General Dr Haider Ashraf appealed to the masses to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity. He said all divisional superintendents of police were directed to carry out search operations in their areas to curb terrorism.
