THE nation is happy that efforts are being made to root out the menace of religious extremism and terrorism which is holding the country back from becoming a welfare state.
As terrorism is deeply linked with religious extremism, it is necessary to eliminate its nurseries and ban those political parties which are using the name of religion to achieve state power.
Thus the political parties having militant wings should be asked to dismantle such wings at the earliest, otherwise they should be banned.
