KARACHI: A couple and their minor daughter died in a road traffic accident in the Sharifabad area on Sunday, police said.

Khurram, 35, and Javeria, 26, and their five-year-old daughter, Kareena, were going to a picnic on a motorcycle when a fast-moving vehicle hit them at the Liaquatabad underpass.

They sustained critical injuries and were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Sharifabad SHO Tariq Beg said it was a hit-and-run accident.

He added that the police were trying to locate the vehicle and the driver with the help of surveillance footage of the CCTV cameras installed there.

He said the family was heading for a picnic from their residence in Paposh Nagar.
