PESHAWAR: Two women were among three persons killed in two honour related incidents here on Saturday, said police.

An official of Hayatabad police station quoted a man as saying that after hearing his sister talk to a stranger in a room of his house, he took up his Kalashnikov and killed both the man and the woman.

The police said that the woman was resident of Sadda area of Kurram Agency, who was presently living in Phase-I of Hayatabad.

The police said that the male victim was an Afghan national. Police arrested the suspected killer and registered FIR against him.

In a similar case, a woman was shot dead while travelling in a rickshaw in Yakatoot area. The woman’s husband, resident of Ainzargi area of Chamkani, told police that his wife had started going out of home with the rickshaw driver, who is a resident of Akhunabad area.

“We have arrested the rickshaw driver and investigation is underway,” an official of Yakatoot police station told Dawn.

Meanwhile, Peshawar police claimed to have arrested two alleged terrorists during a raid on a house here on Saturday. A police spokesman said that the terrorists identified as Mohammadullah and Ikramullah were involved in many terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces and police. Police didn’t divulge further details in this regard.
