KARACHI: K-Electric moved in for the kill at the start of the last-round matches of the Patron’s Trophy (Grade-II) Cricket Tournament with a dominant display against Sindh Police at the RLCA Gulberg Ground here on Wednesday.

The Group ‘A’ leaders, who currently hold a four-point advantage over second-placed Pakistan Navy, posted 309 all out in their first innings before having Sindh Police on the ropes at 119-6.

Opener Behram Khan excelled with another century as he struck 107 off 105 balls with the aid of 12 boundaries and five sixes. Saud Shakeel hit 65.

Navy collected 295 after opting to bat first against Saudi Cricket International at the NBP Sports Complex. Shehzad Khan slammed a 115-ball 88 which included 16 fours.

Saudi Cricket International went to stumps at 64-3.

Omar Associates, second in Group ‘B’ with 14 points, had leaders Nadra in serious trouble at 71-7 on a rain-curtailed first day at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad.

With play being drastically reduced to just 25 overs, Omar Associates made rapid strikes after choosing to bowl first at the toss. Returning Pakistan paceman Mohammad Amir has so far taken two wickets for 20 runs in nine overs.

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) further advanced their semi-final aspirations when the Group ‘C’ leaders raced to 425-4 in the stipulated 83-over quota for the first innings against Candyland at the Sheikhupura Stadium in Sheikhupura.

KPT’s major run-getters were Raza Ali Dar (119 off 113 balls, nine fours and six sixes) and Faisal Khan (114 off 124, 14 fours and one six).

The demoralised Candyland then slumped to 21-2 in their response.

Khayaban-e-Amin, who head Group ‘D’ by a lead of four points over Dollar East, were in command against Service Industries at the Khayaban-e-Amin Cricket Ground in Lahore.

After dismissing Service Industries for a meagre 133, the home team ended the day at 246-7.

Dollar East kept their slim last-four hopes alive by bowling out Income Tax for 130 at the Stags Cricket Ground in the Punjab capital.

By stumps the Karachi-based had made 117-2.
