KARACHI: Pakistan Customs braced themselves for an uphill struggle after K-Electric built a massive 273-run lead on the first innings on the second day of their third-round match in the Patron’s Trophy (Grade-II) Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday.

Resuming their overnight innings at 144-1, K-Electric rode on talented left-hander Saad Ali’s 101 (109 balls, 12 boundaries and one six) to pile up 470-8 in the stipulated 83 overs at the UBL Sports Complex.

Customs reached 113-2 in their second innings to still trail by 160 on the penultimate day of the three-day match.

Pakistan Navy collected 111-4 in the second innings after opting against enforcing follow-on in their fixture versus Medicam at the NBP Sports Complex.

Replying to the sailors’ 433-5, Medicam were dismissed for 254.

Qamber Iqbal slammed 120 (170 balls, 11 fours and five sixes) and Ahmer bin Nasir hit 100 (108 balls, eight boundaries) to help Sindh Police post 436 all out in response to Saudi Cricket International’s 295-8 at the RLCA Gulberg Ground.

Batting again, Saudi were 132-2.

After mutually deciding to forfeit their respective first innings to make up for Tuesday’s blank day at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Nadra scored 307-8 after beingasked to bat first by Pakistan Army. Mohammad Naqqash excelled with a 210-ball 120 (16 boundaries).
