PPP leader accuses PML-N of horse trading

LAHORE: During a press conference in Lahore, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) released payments to parliamentarians prior to Senate elections ─ an act that could be evidence of horse trading.

He went on to say that the elections showed that the PPP was the country’s largest political party. According to him, ten PML-N representatives engaged in horse-trading to ensure that the PPP fails to perform well in the Senate election.

Wattoo believes that both the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate will be members of the People’s Party because of the support from various political parties including Awami National Party (ANP), Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

In reply to a question, he opined that he feels pity for Imran Khan and his politics. In his opinion, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman has left the floor open for the PML-N to take over.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Information Minister Pervez Rashid was vilifying the PTI chairman Imran Khan saying “Imran Khan boycotts everything in which he fails or suffers defeat. It isn't his fault ─ he just doesn’t know how to run a country.”

“Imran should focus on his own party rather than the PML-N and Nawaz Sharif. This way, he might be avert defeats at every front,” he added.

Pervez Rashid was also quick to point out “Imran claims he doesn’t believe in the National Assembly but has made a long stay in Peshawar for Senate. Whatever claims he has made, none of it has come true.”

Addressing the press in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Imran Khan claimed that his party members were offered millions which they refused. He congratulated Pervaiz Khattak on conducting fair and free Senate elections.

The PTI chairman stated “We will not vote for either PML-N or PPP in the coming vote for Senate chairmanship as both these parties are corrupt. They have made politics a business enterprise.”

He also mentioned that Asif Ali Zardari had spent millions of rupees buying four seats in KP and asked how an independent representative won a Senate poll from Balochistan.

The PML-N remained divided into two factions after the controversial senate polls. Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Jan Mohammad Jamali, remained dissident from the leadership of the ruling party. “Whoever wants to bring no-confidence vote against me is free to do so,” he challenged. "My daughter has received votes from 15 members."

in its simplest form, both PPP and PMLN have been in Pakistan politics for more than 30 years whether at federal or provincial level. Where is Pakistan standing in terms of education, police system, justice system, terrorism, security, inflation, or any other department for that matter. Only one question needed to be asked no matter wherever you are from Pakistan. Does an average Pakistani has access to basic necessities that is food, shelter, health, education and security. If the answer is NO, they no matter what excuses these parties make, they have failed.

And what PPP did in KPK? How they get 1 seat from KPK where they have only 5 seats? IK was absolutely right about horse trading in KPK. And kudos to IK who managed his MPA,s not even single vote being traded from PTI in KPK.

This situation is exactly similar to the one when choudry nisar defamed aitaz hasan. When aitazaz hasan gave the reply, NS asked ch Nisar to keep quiet in the name of keeping Jamhuriat alive. So ultimatly they will be accusing each other and eventually they will be silent to save the democracy.

Yes, Imran doesnt know how to run a country. Look at the spectacular job the Sharifs are doing. Pretty soon there will be no signal on Jail Road Lahore.... and with that very intelligent investment, all of Pakistan's problems (illiteracy, health, terrorism) will be solved!

Pakistan can not get rid of these families, who run Pakistan. It does not matter what kind of party, they are all from the same family. They are related to each others by blood, they are members of same clan, they are connected by intermarriages, and business partnerships. Pakistanis can do nothing, to them. They are not going anywhere soon.

Both parties (PML-N & PPP) are "Ali Baba & 40 thiefs", there are 2 "Ali Babs" are in charge of each party, their goal is to steal more from poor "awam", any way they can. Both of them are thumbing their noises at Chief Justice and Army Chief and telling them "Catch us if you can".

@junaid Excellent comment. Absolutely correct. No matter what political party in power, average pakistani citizen still faced with the same problems. Ofcourse, politicians getting good salary and perks, all paid by poor tax payers. Some of these politicians can be seen travelling around with big smiles of their faces, like saying, "I have got it made". But what about problems faced by average pakistanis, electricity, gas, water, schools, hospitals, security etc? Any body cares?
