ISLAMABAD: Burglars and auto-thieves struck at five places in the city, police said here on Tuesday.

In the first incident, some unidentified people broke into the house of Pervez Ahmed, located at Dhok Mohari, and escaped with cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs400,000.

Similarly, burglars entered the house of Raja Masood Ahmad at New Mul and stole valuables worth thousands of rupees. As the burglars were leaving the house, the owner arrived and in panic, the culprits left their motorcycle behind.

In another incident some auto-thieves stole a Suzuki van from the parking area in Blue Area. Similarly, a car was stolen from the parking area of Hamza Tower, F-11/1, and a mini-truck from Sazbi Mandi Road, I-11/4.
