KARACHI: Pakistan’s preparations for this month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Yemen were hit further by a 2-0 loss to Thai Premier League side Osotspa FC in Bangkok on Tuesday.

It was a second defeat on the trot for Mohammed Al Shamlan’s men following last week’s 2-1 loss at the hands of the Malaysian U-22 side in Kuala Lumpur ahead of the first leg of their first-round qualifier for the Russia World Cup against Yemen next week.

Pakistan face Yemen in the away leg in Doha on March 12 before the return in Lahore five days later.

The winner of that tie advances to the second round of World Cup qualifying, which also serves as qualifiers for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup but the Shaheens have work to do if they are to get something out of the games against Yemen.

Pakistan have managed just one win so far on their tour of Malaysia and Thailand with that coming in their first match — against the Malaysia U-19 team.

According to the information made available here, Pakistan suffered a second-half capitulation against Osotspa as they conceded both goals in the space of 10 minutes with the opener coming on 65 minutes.

In their final match of the tour, Pakistan play the Thailand U-23 side on Thursday.
