DHA water problem

Published February 28, 2015

I LIVE in Badar Commercial Area of Defence Housing Authority where there is an acute water shortage.

In view of the persistent shortage and also because summer is approaching, I visited the DHA office to seek permission for boring a hole one foot away from the building.

The idea was to use the underground water for toilets as this is where more than half water is consumed.

I was informed that boring is not allowed, and not only will DHA impose a fine but also confiscate the water pump and other allied machinery if this is done.

Now I fully understand what is meant by the term tanker mafia.
