MINGORA: The Swat police on Tuesday foiled a sabotage bid by defusing a bomb planted by unknown miscreants near a private school in Matta tehsil here.

District police officer Salim Marwat said the police after getting information about explosive device near the Education Academy School in Matta rushed to the spot along with security forces and cordoned off the area. He said that bomb disposal personnel were called who defused the bomb.

Following the recovery of bomb, the security forces and police launched a joint search operation to arrest the culprits, but no arrest was made till late night.

The police lodged case against unknown miscreants and started investigations.

The district administration has directed the private schools to take tangible security measures to avert any untoward incident.
