KARACHI: South Shore School recorded a convincing 51-run win against St Paul’s School in the final of the Ian Fyfe Memorial Inter-School T20 Championship here at the KGA Gymkhana Ground.

Batting first in the match, South Shore School scored 136-7 in allotted 20 overs. Zeeshan Tanvir batted well to score a fluent 50. Humza Khan captured a three-wicket haul, giving away just 20 runs in his four overs. In reply, St Paul’s were dismissed for a paltry 75 in the 16th over. Hammad Ali topscored for the side with 33. Zeeshan captured 3-8 while Umair Paracha bagged3-15.

During the closing ceremony of the tournament, chief guest Asif Azeem, chairman Karachi Sports Forum (KSF), said organizing tournaments which are named after sports loving personalities is a good initiative.

Asif further said that late Ian Fyfe was a big name in sports journalism and KGA Gymkhana’s efforts should be lauded for regularly organizing this tournament in Ian’s memory.

On the occasion, KGA Gymkhana President Lenny Dias, Tournament Secretary Andre Bernard, S Dsouza, Jonathan Rogers and Mohammad Abbas Nawaz also addressed the gathering. Zeeshan Tanvir received the Player of the Final award. Asif presented the trophies to the finalists.
