KALAYA: A government girls school was blown up in lower Orakzai Agency early on Sunday morning.

Agency education officer, Habibullah, said that two rooms and veranda of the government middle school for girls in Bezoot area were destroyed completely while its boundary wall was damaged partially when an explosive device planted by miscreants went off at 6am on Sunday.

The education official said that the number of destroyed schools in Orakzai had reached to 141, of which 38 had been rebuilt so far by the political administration and the security forces. Sources said the political administration had arrested the watchman of the school and were interrogating him.
